About me..
Hello, I am Jemma Matthews — an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist based in Sydney, Australia (however originally from Ireland). I have over five years of experience working as a clinical dietitian, with time spent at Southampton General Hospital in the UK and the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney. My background spans a range of clinical areas, including gastroenterology and surgery, giving me a strong foundation in both clinical practice and evidence-based nutrition therapy.
My passion for women’s health and fertility nutrition began with my own journey. After being diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), I faced the challenges of understanding my hormonal health, making dietary and lifestyle changes, and eventually restoring my menstrual cycle. That personal experience — particularly the uncertainty around my fertility — gave me insight into the emotional and physical complexities many women face. I was surprised by the lack of clear, supportive nutrition guidance available, and that’s what motivated me to specialise in this area.
I’m here to help others navigate their own unique path — whether that means optimising nutrition when trying to conceive, supporting egg and sperm health, regulating the menstrual cycle or managing a hormonal condition, transitioning through menopause, or working with couples undergoing IVF. Everyone’s story is different, and I’d love to be part of yours.
